that “A FAMILY HOME from the simply WOWS MOMEN you step through the door”

A grand home with a patchwork history - this home was found by Jillian in derelict condition, desperately in need of restoration. Subdivided into generously proportioned apartments, the home was reconsidered from end to end with both family and style in mind.

THE NARRATIVE

A circa 1904 home, built on top of a hill on the Northern Beaches to take in the ocean views of Manly. The home has originally a single family home, dubbed 'Cairneyhill’. During construction, an old history book once owned by the family’s son (from Sydney Grammar) was found under the floorboards- a charming relic. Over the years the house transformed into flats and served at points as a war time hospital, a boarding house and the one time home of philosopher John Passmore. Major renovations occurred in the 1920s adding to the patchwork architectural history of the property, displaying Victorian, Federation and Art Deco detailing within.
